Perth Soo Bahk Do (previously named Connor Martial Arts) has been operating in Perth since 1995. In 1995 Sa Bom Nim (Master instructor) Craig Connor started teaching Soo Bahk Do. In 1997 Sa Bom Nim Connor started teaching in the Kardinya Community Centre as “Connor Martial Arts”. Over the years he has thought hundreds of people, with over 40 students graded to the Dan level under his direct guidance. In 2015 Kyo Sa (instructor) Frank Akkerboom had the privilege to take over the school and renamed it to Perth Soo Bahk Do.
Perth Soo Bahk Do is affiliated with the Australian and World Moo Duk Kwan Federation, hence the students of Perth Soo Bahk Do are members of a worldwide organisation, with an approved international grading syllabus and access to a wide network of information and instructors from all over the world. This results that each student of Perth Soo Bahk Do has a world recognised rank which means that you can train anywhere in the world.
Chief instructor Frank Akkerboom, 3rd Dan # 46716 has more than 20 years of martial arts experience in multiple arts, the main ones originating from Korea. His instructor is Sa Bom Nim Craig Connor, 5th Dan #33220 who is the head of Western Australian Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation and the regional examiner for Western Australia.
